Our 4th annual community workshop is back with some old favorites and new twists. So much you'll need for your urban homesteading adventures taught by experts from this community.
From beekeeping to backyard chickens, baking bread, making cheese, candles, and puppets, herbalism, native plants, and straw bale gardening. As every year, we'll share a potluck lunch and plant garlic in the afternoon.
We're excited to share that Botanical Belonging, Chitwood Family Farm, Reggie & Theresa Moten, Kolika Simmons, our staff members Jennifer Thomas-Zwick and Sandra Machin will be presenting this year.
Joann McMillan and Marty Kraft will invite you to join them in creating larger-than-life puppets that mimic life in the soil. The Resilient Activist will be hosting a Climate Cafe during lunch. The KCK Fire Department will provide First Aid training throughout the day.
Missouri Organic Recycling will be helping people construct a circular wire home compost bin and/or a vermicompost bin (earthworms included). Attendees will get the bonus of all the tips and tricks for making compost and caring for earthworms!
